BLM sale lists 17 Lincoln County geothermal parcels
BLM's amended October geothermal sale list identifies 17 Lincoln County parcels totaling 56,063.28 acres.
The Bureau of Land Management will hold an online competitive geothermal lease sale on October 20, 2026. The statewide sale notice offers 83 parcels totaling 265,690.76 acres in 10 Nevada counties.
Lincoln County Social reviewed BLM's August 27 amended parcel list and identified 17 parcels in Lincoln County totaling 56,063.28 acres. The parcel IDs are NV-2026-10-7055, 2328, 2327, 7054, 2323, 2321, 7053, 2320, 7057, 7058, 2335, 2333, 2334, 2332, 7056, 2329 and 2326.
The amended list assigns a 1.75% royalty rate to each of those Lincoln County parcels. Each also carries the BLM Nevada standard lease notices and stipulations covering threatened and endangered species, cultural resources, the Mineral Leasing Act and raptor nest sites. The August 27 amendment corrects an omitted word in some legal land descriptions; it does not change the announced statewide count or acreage.
BLM says 50% of bids, rental receipts and subsequent royalties from leased parcels go to Nevada, 25% go to the county where a lease is located and 25% go to the U.S. Treasury. No Lincoln County revenue estimate is available because auction results and future rental or royalty receipts are not yet known.
A lease sale is not approval to build a geothermal project. BLM says operators must submit site-specific proposals for additional environmental review before exploration or development involving surface disturbance can proceed, and parcels may be withdrawn before the sale.
