Statewide BLM fire-prevention order applies to Lincoln County BLM lands
The signed statewide order covers Nevada BLM-managed lands through October 31 unless rescinded; check separate local and site rules before visiting.
BLM Nevada’s signed statewide fire-prevention order covers its managed lands, roads and trails from May 1 through October 31, 2026, unless rescinded. The order is dated April 24.
It prohibits fireworks and incendiary devices; explosive materials including binary targets; firing tracer, incendiary or steel-component ammunition; and engines without functioning spark arresters. Listed exemptions apply. Carrying firefighting supplies is recommended, not presented here as a separate legal requirement.
Caliente belongs to Ely District. This update addresses the verified statewide order only: additional local or site rules have not been fully established. The July 1 seasonal restrictions described for Winnemucca must not be assumed to govern Lincoln County. This correction does not announce a rescission or permission to light campfires.
