Library board to consider staffing, leadership and bylaws October 9
The October 9 agenda lists proposed staffing and board changes. These are items for consideration, not decisions already made.
The Lincoln County Library Board is scheduled to meet Friday, October 9, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. in Room 107 of the Panaca Town Center, 1005 Main Street. Its posted agenda lists several staffing, leadership and governance matters for possible action.
Among the items are acceptance of Steve Clay’s resignation as chairperson and Kaitlyn Jorgensen’s resignation from the Alamo library. The chairperson item should not be read as confirmation that Clay has resigned his board membership.
The board is also scheduled to consider hiring Kimberly Hansen for 19.5 hours per week at $12.50 per hour, advertising Panaca and Pioche positions with those hours and pay, and changing the Library Director title to Lead Librarian with revised duties. Other proposed compensation includes $15.50 per hour for the lead role and $250 per month for the secretary.
Additional agenda business includes vice-chair leadership, bylaws and board applicants. These are proposals on an agenda: publication of the notice does not establish that a resignation has been accepted, a person hired, a policy adopted or a job posting opened.
Read the complete official agenda for the exact motions and meeting instructions. No ending time is stated.
