Lincoln County's South Zone duck season opens September 26

Lincoln County is in Nevada's South Zone for the 2026-27 duck and merganser season. The approved season is split into September 26 through December 1 and December 12 through January 18.

The general duck daily limit is seven, with a possession limit of 21, but species-specific limits apply within that total. The approved regulation lists daily limits of three pintail, two hen mallards or Mexican ducks, two redheads and two canvasbacks, with possession limits three times those daily numbers.

Scaup have a separate South Zone window of November 7 through January 31 and count within the general duck limit. Legal shooting time is one-half hour before sunrise through sunset.

Hunters need the licenses and validations that apply to them. Nevada requires an annual Harvest Information Program validation for migratory-bird hunters, and hunters age 16 or older pursuing waterfowl need a federal electronic duck stamp.
