Pahranagat refuge’s fall visitor-center host listing remains posted
The fall visitor-center host notice remains online, but availability must be confirmed. The separate September campground-host notice is no longer accessible.
Update, October 3, 2026: Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge’s fall visitor-center host listing remains posted on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service website with an Apply Now link. That does not establish that a vacancy remains. The listed service period is August 31 through November 30, 2026; contact the refuge before making travel or volunteer arrangements.
Visitor-center host: The notice seeks a single volunteer or couple to greet visitors, answer questions, share safety and recreation information, and help with cleaning, litter removal and other facility projects. Volunteers must bring their own RV or motor home and commit 24 to 32 hours per week per resident for at least three months. Start and end dates are described as negotiable. An RV site with electric, water and sewer hookups is provided, along with propane; headquarters has Wi-Fi, laundry and a shower. The listing says a security clearance is required.
Earlier September campground-host notice: The separate notice previously covered September 2026, a period that has now passed. Its source URL returned a page-not-found response when checked October 3. This article no longer presents that role as a current opening. A removed notice does not establish whether it was filled, canceled or otherwise changed.
The visitor-center notice’s displayed recruitment-end date extends beyond its fall service period, so it should not be treated here as a confirmed application deadline. Ask the refuge about remaining vacancies, acceptable start and end dates, requirements and the proper application process.
