USDA extends Supplemental Disaster Relief deadline to September 30
Producers have until September 30 to apply for Stages 1 and 2 of USDA's Supplemental Disaster Relief Program for eligible 2023 and 2024 losses.
The USDA Farm Service Agency has extended the application deadline for both stages of the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program to September 30, 2026.
The program addresses eligible crop, tree, bush and vine losses caused by qualifying natural disasters in 2023 and 2024. Stage 1 uses existing crop-insurance or Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program data. Stage 2 addresses eligible uncovered, non-indemnified and certain quality losses.
A producer may be eligible under more than one stage or disaster year, depending on the operation and loss. USDA says producers claiming quality losses should provide the documentation requested by FSA. Missing pre-quality production data does not extend the September 30 application deadline.
Eligibility and payment calculations are case-specific. Producers should contact FSA early enough to complete the application and supporting records by the deadline. This article is general public information and does not promise eligibility or payment.
